How to Root Android with Magisk Root

Why do we have to root with Magisk ?

Many questions here are why we choose Magisk compared to the most popular root applications like SuperSU. Here I will explain about the advantages and disadvantages of root with this magisk, but all back to you will decide to choose SuperSu or magisk root. This depends on your needs as an android user.

Excess root uses Magisk compared to SuperSU :

  • Can hide root access for applications that block root phones
  • Keep getting the original OTA Rom update from your Android developer
  • Compatible with TWRP or CWM Recovery
  • Do not change your Android system partition, so it is certainly safe for those of you who like Android
  • Compatible with various Android devices

Kekurangan root dengan Magisk root :

  • Installation must be more careful because it is not compatible with SuperSU
  • Not compatible with the Xposed Framework
  • Like its predecessor the xposed frameword, Magisk root has the same functionality in terms of modules, but it is still a bit compared to the xposed framework because it belongs to the latest root method

How to Root Android with Magisk Root

Please read carefully about how root uses this magisk root, because a small error will make your Android device bootlop. Check the way below.

Requirements before root using Magisk :

1. Installed CWM / TWRP recovery

I did not discuss this method because for you Android users must already have a reference on how to install CWM / TWRP. Already many blogs post articles about this, so please find a way to install CWM / TWRP according to your Android device.

2. Xposed Framework uninstall (if you are an Xposed user)

As I explained above, root using Magisk is not compatible with Xposed. So uninstall Xposed by using the xposed uninstaller according to your ARM device architecture. To see the type of device architecture you can use the Device info HW application through the following playstore link :

After downloading, please open the SOC tab and see the ABI section. There you will see your ARM device version. then download the xposed uninstaller in the link below and select your ARM in zip format and install it via CWM / TWRP to delete the xposed on your device.

device info cek hw

Link Download Xposed Uninstaller All ARM :

  1. Xposed Uninstaller Untuk ARM
  2. Xposed Uninstaller Untuk ARM64
  3. Xposed Uninstaller Untuk X86

when the xposed uninstall process via cwm / twrp using the xposed uninstaller is complete, there will be a notification on cwm / twrp to wipe cache and dalvikcache or skip reboot now. It is recommended to choose wipe cache and dalvikcache before rebooting so that it is clear of files and files that are carried by xposed.

3. Unroot SuperSU

To unroot SuperSU you can do this through the SuperSU application, and on the menu, please select full unroot. This must also be done so that when root using Magisk there is no crash with SuperSU. I did not discuss how to unroot via SuperSU because there are many ways that share and certainly very easy.

If you have done all the above conditions, it is time for root to use the Magisk root.

Download the root material below :

Save the three files above into the sdcard or on your Android. the way root is :

  • Enter your CWM / TWRP recovery, then select Magisk root.zip that was downloaded earlier
  • When the installation is complete, there will be a choice before rebooting, which is the option to install SuperSU, please click DONT INSTALL SUPERSU, then the device will reboot
  • If the root is successful and successfully enters your Android home screen, please find the Magisk Manager application, but if it is not found please install the Magisk Manager.apk manual via the link above. When opened, there may be an update option, update the magisk manager if there is one
  • If there is bootlop or android can't enter the homescreen, please bypass by turning off your Android phone and entering CWM / TWRP again then install Magisk Uninstaller.zip via cwm / twrp to delete the failed magisk root

That's the way to root Android with Magisk Root, which you can try, hopefully this article just explains and helps you in root using Magisk. Thank you.
